As you might already know I’m from the lovely city of Sheffield. I love this city, and when it comes to going out, meeting friends, or dating- this city has so much to offer! Sheffield has so many great places to eat and drink- including much-loved chains and cute independent cafés and pubs.
Sheffield is full of bars, restaurants, parks, galleries, and nature spots- so whatever your taste, there’s something for everyone.
Below, I’ve put together a list of 5 great places to go for a date in Sheffield. I really recommend all these places, so as we’re heading back out into the world again, find 5 great places to check out in my home city!
Botanical Gardens
If you’re from Sheffield, then the Botanical Gardens are THE place to go for a romantic picnic. If you’ve met your date on a Yorkshire Dating Site– or even if you just fancy getting away for some private time- the Botanical Gardens has a lovely vibe.

It’s beautiful and relaxed- but there’s always something going on. You can always find a spot that’s secluded enough to have a private conversation, and there’s lots of picturesque hideaways that are perfect for a romantic date.
Turtle Bay
I love Turtle Bay- and I have to confess I’ve never actually been to the one in Sheffield. But I’ve been to the one over in York, and I absolutely love the food and drinks they have to offer. Even though it’s a chain, the food and drinks are high-quality and it’s such a fun place to meet a date.

Whether you’re looking for a classy place to enjoy a few rum-based cocktails, or you’d like to have a Caribbean-inspired meal with your partner- this is a great place to visit.
Don’t want to go out? Meet virtually!
Things are only just starting to open up- so maybe you don’t want to get out and about just yet! That’s no problem- you could run an online quiz, have virtual drinks, eat a meal together, have a chat online, or even play games together- all from the comfort of your house.
If you’ve met someone through match dating, you don’t have to feel pressure to meet in person straight away, so consider the options and get out and about only when you’re ready.
Kelham Island
Kelham Island is such a lovely place to go if you want a bite to eat or a nice drink- and it has the perfect chilled date vibe. This area is full of pubs and cool bars, offering plenty places for every taste. It’s also known for its interesting breweries and small independent places to enjoy when things open up.

What do you think of these 4 great places to go for a date in Sheffield? Have you ever visited Sheffield? Where is your favourite date spot?
