As the days get shorter and darker, it’s always a good idea to have some cosy Autumn activity ideas up your sleeve to make the most of these cooler months.
There are so many fun and cosy ways to enjoy this season, whether you prefer to stay in during this cold time of the year, or you want to venture out.
In this blog post, I’ve put together a list of 12 cosy activities you can do this Autumn, including fun ideas for everyone this season.
1. Go to your local café
I love visiting local cafés around Sheffield, and it’s so lovely to sit in the corner of a warm, busy café with a hot tea and pastry.
Costa is great, but it’s so important to visit small businesses too.
I wish I’d made more use of the cafés and cute, cosy places during my time living in York, too.
2. Cook a warming meal
There’s nothing cosier than spending a bit of time cooking a warming meal with loved ones, or by yourself.
I love making all my favourite foods when the weather turns cold, especially when it’s damp and dark outside.
3. Watch a heart-warming film
One of my favourite cosy activities during Autumn is to put on a film during the day, and just escape into a different reality.
I love long film days with my sibling.
With all the options to watch films these days, there’s no better time to sit back, relax and enjoy a bit of cosy escapism.
4. Go for a walk
Wrapping up warm and going for a walk is a great Autumn activity.

As long as you wear enough layers, you can enjoy a brisk walk around your local area or, better yet, through nature.
When you get home, you can strip off those layers and have a cosy Autumn evening in!
5. Host a bonfire party
Bonfire parties are not just for bonfire night!
You can enjoy a bonfire party at any time during Autumn. Roast some marshmallows and put on some music for you and your friends to enjoy.
You don’t even need a bonfire, you could just use some outdoor heaters for your cosy Autumn garden party.
6. Go to the cinema
The cinema is a great activity to enjoy during the Autumn months.
During the summer, I like to make the most of the warm weather and sunshine, so the cinema is the perfect indoor activity to enjoy with friends when it’s cold outside.
It’s dark outside anyway, so why not make the most of that in a cute cinema with loved ones?
7. Read a book
I’ve really enjoyed using my evenings to catch up on some reading- and I love getting back into it!
There are so many cosy and atmospheric books you could try this Autumn, or you could simply take some time to read that book you’ve always wanted to finish.
There’s something so lovely about settling in with a good book, a blanket and a big cup of tea.
8. Buy a cinnamon bun
In my visits to some of the local cafés of Sheffield, I’ve taken a real liking to cinnamon buns.
They are delicious, and the perfect Autumnal pastry choice.

Cinnamon just reminds me of Autumn and Winter, so I really recommend trying a warming cinnamon bun this Autumn.
I love the cinnamon buns at my local café Cawa, as they don’t add any raisins- perfect for me!
9. Try a different hot drink
I’ve been trying a few different teas lately, and I love enjoying a warming, hot drink on cold mornings.
I love green tea at the moment because of its many health benefits, but I also love peppermint tea and ginger tea.
10. Treat yourself to a takeaway
Even though it can be so nice to make yourself a delicious home-cooked, comforting meal– sometimes a takeaway is the only way to go.
Treat yourself to pizza, fried chicken, desserts, Nando’s- anything you love!
We all need to look after ourselves during the cold and dark months, and sometimes that includes indulging a little.
11. Enjoy a bubble bath
I still haven’t tried out my bath after moving into my own flat- and I need to this Autumn.
A bubble bath is the perfect cosy Autumn activity, as it allows you to relax and stay warm. You can also use all of your favourite essential oils, bath bombs and products.
12. Bake with friends
Baking is such a fun activity to do with other people!

Halloween is a great time to create a few delicious recipes, or you could even make some bonfire night treats.
Once the baking is over, you can enjoy a cosy cookie and a cup of hot tea.
Are there any cosy activities you want to do this Autumn? What is your favourite cosy Autumn activity? What do you think of my cosy Autumn activities?
Let me know all your thoughts in the comments below 🙂
