31 Activities to Add a Bit of Creativity to Your Week

AD – This is a sponsored post. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I love getting creative. It’s one of my favourite ways to rest and relax – and it has been for as long as I can remember. From sketching drawings to writing stories, I love expressing myself in creative ways.

Although my job can be very creative – which I love – I also like to find different activities to add a bit of creativity to my week, outside of work.

These creative activities don’t necessarily lead to anything – but that doesn’t mean they’re not worthwhile. Whether I’m watching a talk by someone I love, or I’m writing a blog post, focusing on my creative passion projects helps me destress and feel inspired.

Why is it important to add creativity to your week?

Adding a bit of creativity to your week is so important – and it doesn’t need to be complicated. It can help you feel passionate, get inspired or spark new ideas.

With work and other responsibilities, your week can become a little mundane if you don’t find activities that help you feel happy, inspired and creative. This might mean simply taking time to read at the weekend or spending time with people that make you laugh.

Getting creative gives you the chance to do something a bit different. You can break out of your regular routine and explore new opportunities, or just enjoy some downtime doing an activity you love.

My tips to add a bit of creativity to your week

Adding a bit of creativity to your week doesn’t have to be difficult. I’ve put together my top tips to make time for creative activities.

1. Keep it simple

All of the activities in this blog post are simple, helping you easily add them into your routine whenever you want. They don’t take up much time if you have other commitments, but they can still add a bit of fun and inspiration to your day.

Keep it simple, otherwise, you’ll find it hard to get creative, especially with work and family responsibilities.

2. Make the most of your time off

Holidays are the perfect time to get creative. Whether it’s your weekend or a random day off, time off is a great chance to inject creativity into your routine and do something a bit different.

Time off doesn’t just mean planned holidays. It could be your lunch break or your evening. Add creativity whenever it works for you!

If you’re a remote worker, such as a translator or writer, you could use your lunch break to work on your crafting designs, or you could do a bit of gardening during your morning breaks.

3. Have fun with it!

Getting creative is supposed to be fun – so don’t put pressure on yourself! There are a million different ways to get creative, including outdoor activities, artwork, music, writing or fashion. Play around with a few different activities to find what works for you.

Adding a bit of creativity to your week shouldn’t feel like a chore, and it doesn’t matter if you don’t produce a masterpiece at the end of it – it’s all about enjoying yourself.

How do you like to add a bit of creativity to your week? Do you enjoy getting creative? What’s your favourite thing to do outside of work?

  1. Lovely piece. I’ve started mixing a bit of harness-free creativity for an hour in the evening. And I’m seeing increased motivation in my day job since I started this. The best part is, I didn’t even know I would enjoy dance movement or doodling!
