If you work from home, it can be easy to slip into unhealthy habits. You have access to food 24/7 and that can lead to constant snacking or boredom eating. Or maybe that’s just me…
However, working from home allows you to be a bit more adventurous with your snacks! You can stick to your diet or fitness plan – and you can make filling snacks without worrying about how you’ll get them to the office.
I’ve put together 17 easy snack ideas for remote workers. Let me know your recommendations in the comments.
Healthy snack ideas
Let’s take a look at some healthy and nutritious snack ideas for remote workers.
Fruit salad
Fruit salad is a great snack for remote workers. It’s easy to make at home – and you can even make a batch in advance.

Make sure to add plenty of colour to your fruit salad, including pineapple, strawberries, grapes, melon, berries and more.
Granola
Granola is a mixture of rolled oats, nuts, seeds, dried fruit, puffed rice and other healthy ingredients.
You can buy granola or make your own – and you can mix it with yoghurt or milk to stay healthy while working from home.
Avocado toast
Avocado on toast is a quick, healthy snack idea. Simply toast your bread and smash some avocado on top.
Avocado is full of healthy fats – and you can add egg or cheese for an extra burst of flavour. Smash your avocado onto crackers to make a mini version of the recipe.
Healthy homemade muffins
Making your own muffins can help you stay healthy, as you can control how much sugar and butter you put into them.

Add plenty of healthy ingredients to your muffins, including bananas, bran, carrot or blueberries.
Veg and hummus
Veg and hummus is a simple but tasty snack idea. Simply cut up some carrots, celery, cucumber and pepper to dip into your hummus.
Yoghurt cereal bowl
This recipe is a fun twist on a bowl of cereal. Instead of pouring milk into your cereal, choose Greek yoghurt instead.
Greek yoghurt is full of probiotics, which help to keep your gut microbiome strong and healthy. You can also mix fruit or granola into your yoghurt.

Quick snack ideas for remote workers
If you’re working on a last-minute translation project or upcoming deadline, quick snack ideas are a must! Let’s take a look at some simple, time-effective snacks to make as a remote worker.
Trail mix
Trail mix is a combination of dried fruit, granola, nuts, seeds and chocolate. It started as an on-the-go treat for hikers – but it’s since become a popular snack for anyone to try out.
Once you’ve made your trail mix, you can eat it whenever you want. No preparation required!
Smoothie
A smoothie is a quick, easy snack idea. Simply throw your ingredients into a blender or pick up your favourite smoothie from the shop.
Peanut butter toast
Peanut butter is a good source of protein – and you can use wholemeal or brown bread for a bit of added fibre.

If you don’t fancy toast, spread peanut butter on rice cakes for an easy and filling work-from-home snack idea.
Peanut butter on toast is also a great breakfast idea for remote workers.
Dried fruit
Mix together banana chips, apricots, cranberries, raisins and dried apples for a nutritious snack. Dried fruit is very sweet, so you can use it as a healthy swap for chocolate or sweets.
If you work in an office, simply pop your dried fruit in a Tupperware for a tasty treat on the go.
Popcorn
Popcorn might make you think of cinema trips or at-home movies, but it actually makes a great snack, too.
Pop some popcorn for yourself to improve your fibre and antioxidant intake. Popcorn is also low in calories as long as you don’t cover it in salt or sugary toppings.
Tasty easy snack ideas for remote workers
Let’s take a look at some delicious snack ideas for remote workers.
Flapjacks
You can pick up healthy flapjack cereal bars from the supermarket or make some for yourself at home.
Add plenty of healthy ingredients to your homemade flapjacks, such as:
- Nuts and seeds
- Yoghurt
- Raisins
- Chocolate chips
- Desiccated coconut
Nachos
I love making homemade nachos while working from home. Simply spread plain tortilla chips on a plate, top with a scoop of tomato salsa, and sprinkle on some cheese.
You can cook your nachos in the microwave in minutes – and don’t forget to add guacamole or sour cream to take your snack to the next level.

It’s true, nachos aren’t very healthy – but they’re a tasty treat to get you through the workday.
Egg muffins
An egg muffin is a baked egg cup filled with healthy ingredients, such as vegetables and tomatoes.
Similar to a mini quiche, you can make your egg muffins in advance and heat them up when you’re ready for a treat.
Homemade sweet potato fries
Sweet potatoes are full of vitamins and minerals, including vitamin A, potassium and manganese.
By making your fries, you can decide how much salt or seasoning you want to use, making them a delicious and nutritious snack idea for people who work from home.
Cheese on toast
If you’re looking for a filling snack while you work from home, cheese on toast is a great choice – and you can use wholegrain bread for an added health kick.

Cheese on toast is also an easy lunch idea for remote workers. Top your toast with beans and eggs for a filling treat.
Pizza pinwheels
A pizza pinwheel is made by rolling pizza toppings in a soft dough and slicing it into rounds.
This snack only uses a few ingredients – and you can make a batch of mini pizzas at the weekend to enjoy hot or cold throughout the week.
If you need a quick, cost-effective snack idea, pizza pinwheels are the way to go! You can even pack a couple of pinwheels into a Tupperware box if you’re off to the office.

Such a great list! I noticed that when I work from home, I either skip my lunch or scrounge for whatever is in the fridge and pantry. I put more efforts into my lunches when I work in office, lol. I love avocado toast, nachos, and peanut butter toast with some banana slices! The next lunch I’d love to try is toast or bagel with cream cheese, avocado, and some smoked salmon.

I’m so uninterested in food and food preparation, so I look at most these suggestions and thought they were too much effort. However, I’ve not had cheese on toast in years, so I may try that

I really like all these snack ideas as they all sound really tasty and easy to make/eat while at home. I recently had some burrata cheese spread on a thick slice of brown bread topped with some garlicky mushrooms, herbs and a drizzle of olive oil. It was insanely good!
