This is a collaborative post – all thoughts and opinions are my own.
If you’ve been following my blog for a while, you’ll know I used to be in a long-distance relationship with my boyfriend. It was during the Covid pandemic, which meant visits were few and far between, and everyone in the world was distanced from someone they loved.
Even though the pandemic is long-gone, long-distance relationships aren’t. We all have someone we love who lives far away, whether it’s your mum, your partner or your best friend.

However, just because you might not see your loved ones this Christmas, that doesn’t mean you can’t treat them to something special.
There are plenty of great gifts you can order for delivery – or you can post a little something to show your friend just how much they mean to you.
5 Christmas gift ideas for long-distance relationships
Here are 5 Christmas gift ideas for long-distance couples, friends and family. How can you treat your loved ones from a distance?
1. Put together a hamper of treats
Put together a fun hamper of treats for someone special. You can order a pre-packed hamper online, or you can put one together for yourself. This could have a theme or just include all of your favourite Christmas comfort foods.

Pack your hamper with biscuits, chocolate, books, stationery, candles, stickers, wine, Prosecco, beer – whatever you want. You can order it straight to your loved one’s house for Christmas.
2. Pick up a voucher
A voucher is the gift that keeps on giving! Here are some voucher options for Christmas:
- A spa experience
- A meal out on you
- A promise, such as a date night
I often get vouchers, even for people I see everyday. They’re a great option if you don’t want to buy something physical, or if you want to avoid waste. You can treat someone to a special experience – whether you do it together or not.
3. Order a Christmas bouquet
There’s nothing quite like receiving a bouquet of flowers from someone you love! We often see flowers as romantic, but they make the perfect present for anyone in your life.

Order a Christmas flower delivery right to your loved one’s door. You can select your partner’s favourite flowers or choose a pre-packed bouquet fit for the occasion.
Last year, my mum got me a beautiful poinsettia in the run up to Christmas. It was such a special gift, and it lasted all the way until mid-January.
4. Send self-care treats
Long-distance relationships can be hard. So, what better way to celebrate your friends, family or partner than with a bit of Christmas self-care?
Here are some fun self-care treats for anyone:
- Tea, coffee or hot chocolate
- Bubble bath or bath salts
- Cosy socks or slippers
Self-care treats are perfect for this time of year. Your friends and family can use your treats to create the perfect cosy day for themselves over Christmas, including plenty of “me” time.

5. Set up a long-distance date
Just because you’re away from your partner right now, that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy some quality time together. Set up a long-distance date to get together over video call.

You can send food, drinks and activities in the post ahead of time, or even organise an in-person meetup during the Christmas season.
This works for non-romantic relationships, too! Make time for a meal with your mum or do a quiz with your bestie. It’s all about making the most of the time you have – even if that’s over the phone.
Do you have any fun Christmas gift ideas? What are your gift ideas for long-distance couples? Do you have any tips for celebrating Christmas with people who live far away?
