5 Tips to Romanticise Your Summer: How to Make the Most of Small Moments

AD – This is a collaborative post. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Romanticising my time is one of my favourite things to do! On my blog, I’ve discussed fun activities to romanticise your Summer and how to romanticise your Autumn season.

In this blog post, I want to take a look at exactly how to romanticise your Summer. How can you make the most of the warmer months? How can you have fun without breaking the bank? Let’s take a look.

5 tips to romanticise your Summer

Here are 5 tips to romanticise your Summer – follow these tips to enjoy the dreamy, care-free Summers we always see on screen!

1. Tap into all your senses

Romanticising your Summer is all about tapping into the senses. Don’t just plan a trip to a local café or a walk through the park. Think about how you can make those activities even better.

What are you wearing? What are you eating? What music are you listening to? All of these things play a role in romanticising your season. It’s all about being intentional with your time. Even the smallest activity can be made into a fun Summer day out.

I love when I get everything just right. The perfect Summer playlist, the perfect Summer sweet treat, the perfect drink, the perfect view, the perfect weather… Create a full, immersive experience to make your Summer a good one.

2. Get away from screens

Screens are great, but it’s easy to think they’re the be-all-and-end-all. For me, getting away from screens is one of the best ways to romanticise my Summer.

You could:

  • Get out into nature
  • Go to your local café or pub garden
  • Read a good book
  • Cook a Summer meal for yourself

All of these activities are easy, affordable and fun. You can do them with other people or take yourself out for some quality alone time.

3. Treat yourself

I love treating myself to Summer drinks, outfits and days out at this time of year. It doesn’t have to be anything big – just something that makes you feel good during the warm Summer months.

Going on a solo date is a great way to treat yourself without breaking the bank. You could go to your local art gallery or take a new class.

It will make you feel like the main character in your own film. And really, isn’t that the whole point of romanticising your life?

If holidays are your thing, treat yourself to a trip somewhere new. You could book an adventurous Madeira walking tour or go for a beach holiday in Italy. The world’s your oyster!

4. Use the everyday

Romanticising your Summer is all about making the most of the everyday. I’m talking about little moments that put you in the Summer spirit.

Here are some great ways to use your everyday:

  • Wear your favourite Summer outfits
  • Go for a walk without headphones – listen to the noises around you
  • Sing along to Summer songs – or create a full Summer playlist
  • Read a book that reminds you of Summer – bonus points if you read it outside in the sun

Most people don’t have the time and money for big activities or expensive purchases, but there are so many small, free ways to romanticise your Summer every single day.

5. Take notes on everything

Take time to narrate your own life! You could journal at the end of each day or write a short poem to romanticise your day. If writing’s not your thing, take plenty of photos to capture intentional, meaningful Summer moments.

This will help you keep a record of everything you’ve done over Summer – and you’re sure to feel like you’re in a film (or a very well-curated Instagram feed).

Taking notes will encourage you to reflect on your season in the moment, as well as in the years to come. I’m a very creative person, so I’m definitely going to take my own advice this Summer!

Do you have any tips to romanticise your Summer? What is your favourite Summer activity? How do you live intentionally everyday?
