AD – This is a sponsored post. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Breakfast has long been known as the most important meal of the day – but many of us skip it when life gets busy.

Eating a good breakfast can set you up for the day. It can improve your concentration throughout the morning and help you avoid headaches or migraines before lunch.

As a remote worker, I like to be a bit more adventurous with my breakfast meals – especially as I’m trying to eat healthy foods alongside my fitness routine.

I like to make a tasty breakfast to enjoy at my desk every morning. I might not start work, but I’ll check my emails and ease myself into the day.

However, you may prefer to get up a little earlier to cook your breakfast – or maybe you just grab a bite to eat before your first meeting.

Let’s take a look at some easy breakfast ideas for remote workers, including nutritious, healthy and delicious meals for anyone to try out!

Healthy breakfast ideas for remote workers

I’ve put together some healthy breakfast ideas for people who work from home. Let’s take a closer look.

1. Porridge

Porridge is often seen as a boring, flavourless breakfast dish. But that’s not true! Porridge is a very versatile food – and you can add lots of tasty ingredients, including:

  • Cinnamon
  • Berries
  • Honey or golden syrup
  • Banana

You can even get a pre-made porridge pot from Fuel or Quaker Oats to enjoy a warming breakfast in the morning.

2. Peanut butter on toast

Peanut butter on toast is a healthy and filling breakfast idea if you’re busy working from home.

It’s full of protein and it will keep you going until lunchtime. You can even choose granary or brown bread for a bit of added fibre.

3. Overnight oats

Overnight oats are porridge oats mixed with yoghurt, fruit and other ingredients, and then left overnight in the fridge. The oats soften in the yoghurt to create a healthy breakfast.

Overnight oats also make a great work-from-home snack, especially if you need to grab a quick bite to eat while you crack on with work.

4. Scrambled eggs

Eggs are so easy and versatile – and they make a great breakfast if you’re working from home. Add beans, toast, tomatoes or mushrooms to your scrambled eggs for a healthy cooked breakfast.

5. Healthy breakfast pancakes

Pancakes are a classic breakfast treat, but did you know they can be healthy, too?

Use eggs and wholemeal flour for your pancake mix and serve with plenty of Greek yoghurt, fruit or honey. You could even stir in some protein powder if you’re on a health kick.

6. Avocado eggs

You might have tried avocado on toast, but have you ever tried avocado eggs? For this dish, you cook eggs in avocado halves, along with plenty of seasoning. This is a good option if you’re gluten intolerant or just fancy a healthy alternative to toast.

7. Omelette

Omelettes are a tasty and easy breakfast idea for remote workers. Whip up an omelette before you start work in the morning – and make sure to add plenty of mushrooms, cheese, tomatoes and ham.

If you want a healthy kick of fibre first thing in the morning, try mixing vegetables into your omelette. Serve with baked beans or toast.

8. Easy breakfast burrito

A breakfast burrito combines a few different breakfast foods, all wrapped up in a tortilla wrap. You can pre-make your burrito beforehand or cook it up in the morning.

You can put anything in your wrap, including:

  • Bacon
  • Sausage
  • Eggs
  • Mushrooms
  • Tomatoes
  • Spinach

9. Bacon sandwich

Everyone loves a bacon sandwich. It might not be nutritious, but sometimes it’s just what you need on a busy Friday morning.

If you’re looking for a vegetarian alternative to your favourite breakfast meal, try using veggie sausages or bacon.

10. Homemade blueberry muffins

Blueberry muffins are full of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants – and if you make them yourself, you can control how much sugar goes into them, too.

If you don’t like blueberries, that’s okay. You could make banana breakfast muffins or egg muffins for your work-from-home breakfast.

11. Brunch sandwich

I love ordering a brunch sandwich when I go out for food!

Brunch sandwiches combine all your favourite breakfast foods in one versatile meal. You could make a grilled chicken bagel or pop bacon and egg in a toasted croissant.

Brunch sandwiches are great for a morning treat – and you can add whatever you want. Make your sandwich as healthy (or unhealthy) as you like.

12. French toast

French toast is the perfect breakfast treat. Why not make French toast on Friday morning to use up any leftover bread from the week?

You can make your French toast sweet or savoury with ingredients like bacon, eggs, honey, golden syrup, cream or fruit.

17. Breakfast cereal

It’s a classic for a reason! Make sure to choose a cereal like Weetabix or bran flakes, as many healthy cereals are fortified with vitamins and minerals, such as iron.

Add plenty of milk for a boost of calcium. If you don’t drink cow’s milk, choose almond or soy milk with added B12 and calcium to make sure you’re getting the same health benefits.

  1. Thanks for the ideas! I struggle with breakfast because I can’t face sweet things in the morning, and that includes fruit. Have been eating porridge for long enough but now I’ve read a book – The Plant Paradox – by one Dr Gundry who says that oats are one of the worst things you can put in your body! WHAT? I thought they were one of the healthiest! But he’d definitely endorse avocado eggs so I’m seriously going to look at that one.
