5 Unique Features of My Dream Wedding

AD- This is a sponsored post. All thoughts and opinions remain my own.

Whether you’re in a relationship or you’re loving single life, everyone has basic ideas about what they want from their life when it comes to marriage, children or careers.

Marriage is a big part of many people’s lives, and it has been for years.

While marriage began as a family exchange, it is now the way that millions of people across the world express their love for their partner, committing themselves legally, emotionally and (for some) religiously.

These days, weddings come in all shapes and sizes! Some are classic and elegant, others are fun and unusual.

In this blog post, I’ve come up with 5 unique features of my dream wedding. I want to imagine fun and interesting features for my imaginary, dream wedding!

1. A fantastic DJ

It might seem basic, but a fantastic DJ is a must!

A great DJ allows you to play all your favourite songs, and I think they add a more fun and informal element to that nerve-wracking first dance and the fun evening reception.

I love the idea of a proper wedding sound system and pretty lights.

I think the party reception afterwards almost sounds more fun than the ceremony!

2. Unique lighting

I love the idea of unique lighting that casts an elegant and glamorous look on my dream wedding.

I know you can rent light up versions of the word “Love” or your married name, for example, and I think this is such a cute touch to a wedding reception.

This will add a romantic glow to the day, using fairy lights or yellow bulbs to create a nice glow.

3. A wedding post box

I recently saw this idea online, and I love it!

A wedding post box is basically a place where you can store all of your gifts and well wishes, and I think it’s so much more elegant than a regular box.

I love that you can get these post boxes personalised, and they are a unique feature for a modern wedding.

4. The perfect dress

I know it’s a cliché, but my dream wedding would not be complete without the perfect dress!

I’m not 100% sure what this would look like, but I’d love something classic and traditional for when I walk down the aisle.

Choosing a wedding dress is a big event, and going to try on dresses with my family and friends will be a lot of fun in the run-up to my dream wedding.

5. Limited guest list

I wouldn’t want a lot of people at my dream wedding.

Although it’s fantastic when people have huge ceremonies- that wouldn’t be my ideal situation.

I don’t even like being centre of attention on my birthday, so my dream wedding would just include the people I love the most- and a limited guest list.

What do you want at your dream wedding? Did you have any of these unique features? Do you want to get married in the future?

Let me know all your thoughts in the comments below 🙂

Happy reading x

  1. I like your ideas for your dream wedding! Personally, I never cared much about my wedding but when I attent to some of them as a guest I have to say that good dj is a must.

  2. I love that you have a vision for your wedding, as it can be such a big day, it’s nice to have an idea of what you want and how best to celebrate your love. I didn’t have any of these as my husband and I just went on down to the courthouse and got married. That isn’t for everyone but for us, it actually felt really spontaneous, exciting and just for us. I love all your ideas, they sound wonderful!

  3. Great features for a wedding! I’ve never heard of having a post box but that’s a great idea! I think one thing I’d also like is a photo booth with props for some silly photos 😊

  4. Loving these ideas lovely. I myself would defiantly have to have a photo booth and a good photographer so there’s plenty of funny photos being taken. A good DJ is a must isn’t it? I like all the oldies to be played so everyone’s up and dancing Xo

  5. I love this. The little touches are what really help make your wedding unique and personal. I always read about people with their big dress fittings and the shopping experience, but it’s not something that I had personally. Rather than going shopping for a dress, we took my mother’s dress from 1985 and had it altered and reworked for me to wear on my wedding day. it was so special and meaningful, especially considering the fact that my sister was the one that did all the work and she found some great ways to add a personal touch.

  6. Music is so important to any event, so I love that you listed the DJ first! Having songs that fit the mood and get everyone dancing is a great way to celebrate with your loved ones 🙂
