5 Ways to Have Fun with Your Blog

When you blog, whether as a hobby or as a way to earn a bit of money, not everything is fun and games.

Blogging can be hard – especially when your views drop or you don’t get as much engagement as you want.

But whatever stage you’re at in your blogging journey, it’s important to find a few ways to have fun with your blog!

This might involve getting to the heart of what you really love about blogging or simply remembering why you picked up your laptop in the first place.

In this blog post, read about 5 great ways to have a bit of fun with your blog!

1. Write a blog post you love

A great way to have fun with your blog is to write a blog post you love, instead of a sponsored post or one that you’re writing for a certain audience.

For example, I don’t get great views when I write about books or authors – but when I feel inspired by them, I choose to write about them anyway.

Take time to write something that makes you feel passionate about your writing – and remember what first made you want to start a blog in the first place.

2. Chat with another blogger

One of the best ways to have fun with your blog is to chat with someone who understands the experience of being a blogger.

Other bloggers are always there when you need to chat about the ups and downs – and it’s great to know you can rely on them for a bit of help.

Reach out to another blogger to remind yourself how much you enjoy blogging.

3. Collaborate with your favourite bloggers

When I feel a bit down about my stats or I want to speak with like-minded bloggers, I organise a collaboration blog post!

I’ve done this a few times in the past, such as in my blog post about how different bloggers deal with motivation.

This is a great way to engage with other bloggers, have a bit of fun and mix up your content to inspire your writing.

4. Forget about the stats for a bit

If you’re a blogger, it’s impossible to not check your stats from time to time.

If you run your blog for money, these stats might be even more important – and a drop in your followers, your views or your DA score can be very disheartening.

Try to forget about your blog stats for a bit and try to just enjoy your blog. It’s sure to give you a little boost and encourage you to have fun with your blog again!

5. Collaborate with a business you love

One of the perks of blogging is collaborating with different businesses and companies.

There are always small businesses out there that are willing to collaborate with you – and it can be lots of fun to try out a new product and write about it.

When I started my blog back up again after a big break, I reached out to small creators on Etsy, promoting them via my blog for a few gifted products.

Try reaching out to creators and small businesses that you love, and encourage yourself to have a bit of fun with your blog.

How do you have fun with your blog? What are your top tips for enjoying blogging? Do you have any ideas for having fun with your blog?

  5. This is such a great post. I have been taking a long term break from my blog and now I am very removed from my stats and I’ll only be back when I am writing something I truly believe in or simply love.

This is great advice and often forgotten x

  6. What a great, informative post! Blogging is definitely a create outlet and hobby for me. Having said that, I do want to also show growth in my blog to enable me to have pre-publication access to any book I’d like to read. I try not to focus on numbers, but that last week of the month is definitely hard not to. Thanks the advice !

  7. These are great advices! I always try to write about things that inspire me or at least find them really interesting to write about, so I do enjoy blogging! I have not yet done any collaboration or guest post. Still trying to figure how many things work but I definitely liked the posts I read 🙂

  8. I wish I knew how I could collaborate with mental health organisations, but it’s not an easy niche to form those kinds of connections.

It certainly is a good idea to write about topics you enjoy or interest you, otherwise it’ll make blogging harder

  11. I love these suggestions! I recently took a break from blogging, as I started to see it as a chore rather than what it is – a fun way to express myself.

Not focusing on your stats for a while is a great tip, along with collaborating with other bloggers. It sounds strange, but I love chatting with other bloggers on Twitter. The blogging community have a great way of motivating you and reminding you to have fun and focus on your own progress. 😊

    Thank you for sharing. 😊

  12. These are such great tips! I recently relaunched my blog, I had stopped writing because i found I was forcing myself to write when I didn’t want too. Now I’m back in the swing of things and enjoying it, should always write what you love otherwise it shows in your writing.
