My Blogging Goals For 2021

It’s that time of year when we start to make goals in all parts of our lives! This year I really want to build my blog, hoping to reach new readers and monetise my site.

In this blog post, I’ve put together my blogging goals for 2021, in an attempt to keep myself accountable in the coming months. It’s taken me a few weeks into the New Year to really decide on the direction I’m going this year – I’d love to find out your goals for 2021.

My blogging goals for 2021

Write an Ebook

This is my main goal for 2021. I love writing so I would love to get started on an ebook project in the next few months. I’ve been reading a few ebooks from other bloggers and it would be amazing if I could earn a bit of money from one of my own products.

I also think it would be great to create a blogging resource or template, and it’s fantastic to have a project to work on during these tough times – so I can’t wait to get going with it.

SEO

SEO is something I’ve been trying to work on for ages – and I’m slowly starting to learn more and more about it. But it’s not easy. In 2021, I want to work on my SEO skills and put them into action on my blog.

Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing can be tough sometimes – but I really enjoyed getting involved with it in 2020! So in 2021, I would love to earn a little more money from affiliate marketing.

Sponsored Content

This is another of my biggest blogging goals for 2021. Sponsored content is so much fun to write, and I love being able to earn from my writing.

In 2021, I hope to gain more sponsored opportunities and start to feature more brilliant people or companies in my posts.

Social Media Engagement

My final blogging goal for 2021 is to up my social media engagement. I’m already very active on Twitter, but I’d like to engage with bloggers and accounts on other platforms.

I love that social media is one of the top places I get my blog views from, and towards the end of 2020, I really upped my engagement.

I’d really like to keep this up in 2021. Who knows, maybe I could reach 10k followers on Twitter? That might be a bit unrealistic…

  1. These are all such great goals for this year! SEO is something I have started to learn over the last 3/4 months. Yoast SEO Plugin for WordPress has been a really big help with this. It has a traffic light system whilst writing posts and tells you what you need to change in your content and what’s good.

    I am hosting a free SEO class in February! I haven’t released the sign up form for it yet but be on the look out for that. As it may be beneficial for you🤗

  6. Excellent goals! For me, I’m aiming to continue growth in traffic and interaction, and grab a few more sponsorships too. Oh, and I’m planning to open a second site as part of the marketing campaign for my next novel.

  9. Love these goals! Excited for your ebook!!!! Congratulations on that!! I use yoast SEO for WordPress. I find it helps but that’s definitely something I want to improve on too. Good luck, and look forward to watching you crush your goals!!

  11. You have some great goals here! SEO is a focus of mine moving into 2021 as well. I recently got my hands on the SEO The Easy Way ebook and workbook, so I’m slowly making my way through it and learning all the info that it has to offer. I am also working on Pinterest growth. I did the Pinterest with Ell course in 2020 and have been putting all of those tips into practice as of late. I am determined to make 2021 a year of growth and accomplishment!

  13. These are brilliant goals for the year. Very similar to my own really. SEO is a constant work in progress for me. I worry that I am spending so much time creating new content that I am not really making time to go through old posts etc.

  18. These goals are fabulous and super attainable! I love it. For me, I would love to make money through ads and affiliates! I don’t have solid goals yet because I’m still learning lots but hopefully once I get the ball rolling, I could narrow my goals down like you! Can’t wait to see it. Thanks for sharing Eleanor x

  26. Most of my views come from social media as well, and it is something that I hope to work on. I’ve been working on SEO since day one, but it is slow to pickup, and it is part of the reason why I need to take things into my hands with social media. These are great goals to have, and I wish you all the best! 🙂

  27. Awesome goals you have here! I also want to get sponsored posts and utilize affiliate marketing more this year. I’ve been thinking to write an ebook too but I’m not sure yet if I’m ‘good’ enough to write it since I’m just a 7 months blogger lol ~ thank you for sharing this x

  28. Thank you for sharing! My main goal this year is to grow my blog followers/views and also increase my engagement on twitter and instagram. I am having issues with my instagram stories at the moment. I am not getting a lot of views. Do you have any tips and tricks to help me with that? Thanks!! Have a great day! 🙂

    1. I hope you reach your goal, that sounds great! I actually don’t really use Instagram so unfortunately I don’t have many tips for using it- but I think frequency and finding a community of like-minded followers is a great place to start x

  29. Sounds like you will have a successful blogging year with those fantastic goals! My goals for 2021 include posting more consistently on my blog, finishing some blogging courses, and writing an ebook. I already use the free version of Yoast which really helps with SEO, but honestly, just writing quality content does the trick.

  34. Great post, and great goals! I wish you all the luck with them, especially the ebook sounds like tough cookie! As for me, I would love more views/followers, go through my reviews and add series tags (gone through my Dutch and a couple of English reviews), update some links that are old, maybe add a new post type (not sure which though).

  41. I love these goals, and how they focus on learning and creating rather than simply followers and views, which really can’t be controlled. I’ve been needing to learn SEO too — tbh I barely even know what it means, so it’s long overdue. Thanks for sharing ❤️
