Your 20s can be an odd time – everyone is in a different place. Some people are having babies, some people are climbing the career ladder, and some people are just trying to get by.
There are so many things to try and do and be, so it can be easy to feel like you’re not moving fast enough or you’re not achieving big.
That’s why small wins are so important. You need to celebrate all your milestones – big and small – to boost your confidence and learn how to succeed in your 20s.

Celebrating an accomplishment in your life, however small, can give you a real sense of purpose, achievement and happiness.
Small wins come before big ones – and they can help you see just how far you’ve come. Big wins don’t just happen overnight. It takes lots of small steps to get to where you want to be.
So, from celebrating a new hobby to starting a new job, let’s take time to treat ourselves and truly celebrate all of our small wins!
5 ways to celebrate small milestones in your 20s
There are so many ways to mark the small milestones in your life. Let’s take a look at 5 fun things you can do to celebrate little wins in your 20s.
1. Write down your wins
This is a tip I use for my freelance writing. I write down positive feedback from clients or small project wins. If I score a new client or learn something new, it all goes into the same notebook.
This is a great way for me to track my progress – and it also serves as a helpful reminder for future me. I won’t remember all those little wins if I don’t keep a record of them.
2. Share your wins with someone else
Brag about yourself a bit! We’re told not to brag about our accomplishments, but it’s okay to tell other people when you’re excited about something you’ve achieved.

If you’re a writer like me, you could share your small wins to a social media community or local group. Tell your book club if you’ve started writing a novel, or share your word count goal online. It’s all about finding people who will cheer on your success.
3. Treat yourself
If you’ve achieved something in your work or personal life, it deserves to be celebrated. Treating yourself to a special gift will officially mark your milestone. Every time you look at your gift, you’ll think about your achievement.
Your treat could be something as small and budget-friendly as a delicious lunch at the end of your week, or as huge as a new diamond ring. It’s up to you!
You don’t even have to buy anything to treat yourself. You could take an afternoon off work or organise a cosy movie night to watch your favourite film. It’s all about finding a way to mark those moments that mean so much.
4. Build on your small milestones
One of the best ways to celebrate a small win is to keep the momentum going. Turn your little wins into big milestones by taking them a step further.
If you’ve just completed a big project for a new client or employer, for example, your next step could be asking for a testimonial or feedback. If you’ve started a new fitness routine, stay consistent with your workouts.

Although small wins are worth celebrating in themselves, building on your milestones is important for your future – and for your personal development.
5. Enjoy a self-care day
Just like treating yourself, taking a self-care day gives you a chance to properly mark your wins. You can rest, reset and reflect on your accomplishments.
There are a few ways to boost your self-care. You could enjoy a meditation session, try out a new creative hobby or treat yourself to a cosy Autumn reading afternoon.
Often, small wins come after a lot of work. You might have spent time on a big project or sacrificed time in your personal life, so self-care is the perfect way to relax.
