15 Easy Tricks to Help you Feel on Track

I recently read a post by Jenny all about 33 small ways to help you feel like you have your life together.

It got me thinking about what I would add to my own list- and how we can all try to do those little things that help us feel on track.

Sometimes you just don’t feel on track!

This might be because you’re not where you want to be in your career, you’re still working on your self-esteem and image or you’re just not feeling productive.

Whatever the reason, there are a few simple but effective tricks you can use to help you feel on track with your day.

If you take care of the little things, the bigger things will fall into place too.

In this post, I’ve put together 15 easy tricks to help you feel organised, happy and on track with your life.

1. Get up on your first alarm

Okay, so this one isn’t exactly easy- but getting up on your first alarm (and not snoozing it one million times) is a great way to feel focused and on track with your day.

Even if it’s just waking up and chilling in bed for a bit, this trick will help you feel on track.

2. Eat healthy snacks

Throughout your day, choose to eat healthy snacks.

This will help you feel more together, and it will be better for you in the long run.

3. Buy your shopping

I don’t know about you, but I always feel more on track when I can make the meals I want, without having to pop to the shops for ingredients.

I like having enough food at my fingertips to make nice meals, and I always end up buying unhealthy food if I shop day-by-day!

4. Wake up at the same time everyday

Try to wake up at roughly the same time everyday.

It’s a great way to improve your sleep and it will give you more energy. It could also help you feel a little more on track with your life.

5. Put on smart clothes

An easy trick to help you feel on track is to simply get dressed. Put on some smart clothes, even if you’re working from home or wear one of your favourite outfits.

It will help you feel more organised, focused and on track with your day.

6. Put on the washing machine

I hate having a big pile of dirty clothes! Finishing the laundry is such a satisfying job.

It will help you feel on track if you have a drawer full of clean underwear instead of hunting for a new pair every morning.

7. Complete your skincare routine

I have to complete my morning and evening skincare routine everyday otherwise I know I will break out, and I can’t relax without following my strict regime.

Whatever skin type you have, putting on your make-up in the morning or dabbing on some moisturiser at night is a great way to feel on track with your routine.

8. Make your bed in the morning

This is a very easy trick to help you feel on track!

Make your bed as soon as you get out of it so that you don’t forget.

It’s also so nice to come back to a tidy house when you get back from work or when you’re ready for sleep.

9. Charge your phone to 100%

I am the worst for letting my phone lose charge!

However, an easy trick to feel on track is to leave your phone on charge until it reaches 100%.

It means you can listen to music while you walk, contact friends and family or just feel a little safer when you’re out and about.

10. Change your bedding

Changing your bedding is an easy trick to help you feel more organised, and it will help your bed stay clean and fresh.

If you share your bed with someone else, it’s also hygienic to change your bedding whenever you can.

Nothing beats slipping into freshly changed bedding.

11. Keep a full water bottle with you

If you don’t drink enough water, it can have a huge impact on your energy levels and general health.

However, this problem is easily solved!

To help you feel on track with your day, carry a full water bottle around with you and re-fill it when it gets empty.

12. Always have a cereal bar in your bag

Trust me on this. I have been in too many situations where I’ve ended up eating lunch later than expected, or I’ve forgotten to eat breakfast.

A cereal bar in your bag is a great solution!

It means you have something to stop you from feeling too hungry for a short amount of time.

You never know when you might get stuck in a traffic jam, run late to work or feel a dip in energy.

13. Take out your bins

A great way to feel on track is to tidy your living area. However, when you’re not feeling like you can or want to do a full clean, it’s the little things that help.

Take out your bins and get rid of any smelly rubbish.

I guarantee it makes a bigger difference than you think!

14. Choose your outfit the day before

An easy trick to help you feel on track is to choose what you’re going to wear in advance.

This means you’re not wasting any time in the morning when you’re getting ready, and you have more time to focus on the more important parts of your day.

15. Write a to-do list

Writing a to-do list is a great way to organise your time.

It can help you feel like you have a focus. It’s always helpful to have a loose plan, to make sure you can get on track.

Do you have any easy tricks to help you feel on track? What do you think of my small tricks to stay on track? Do you like to follow a structure in your day, or do you prefer to be flexible?

  2. These are great tips! In the morning I have to set “warning alarms” to let me know that it’s almost time for me to wake up. I do like the idea of picking clothes out the day before, something I should get into the habit of doing.

Also meal planning, I meal plan all my meals through the week when working from home so I don’t waste time or get caught out not having enough time to actually eat. 10. I used to follow almost all the tips mentioned above when I was working outside home. Since work from home started I just keep forgetting taking off my pyjamas and getting dressed. I think I should make it a habit cause it gives you more energy to work efficiently. Being with pyjamas all day feels like you can get a nap anytime you wish. When I am outside I always carry a cerreal bar with me and a bottle of water.
