5 Films I Want to Watch this November

Welcome back for another post 🙂

There are so many films that I always say I’m going to watch, but I never get round to it. But with the seasons changing, and the days getting darker, it’s the perfect time to watch all those films I’ve been meaning to get round to!

And with the UK going into lockdown, when I’m not at work or building my blog I have endless hours to spend binge-watching shows or trying the many films Netflix have started adding to their site.

Below are 5 films I want to watch this November

Notting Hill

I love a good Hugh Grant or Julia Roberts 90s rom-com, and this is a classic! I noticed Netflix had recently added Notting Hill to their many listsings, and so I’m excited to give this one a go.

Following the story of a British bookseller (Hugh Grant) who falls in love with a high-profile American actress (Julia Roberts). With problems along the way, this film sounds like it will pack in just the right amount of romance, glamour, and light-hearted fun.

Girl, Interrupted

This film is a slightly less comedic or romantic choice, but I read this novel a while ago and I’ve been meaning to try out the film version ever since. This film is about a young woman who is admitted to a mental hospital, and it follows all the people she meets along the way.

I found this book very powerful and I’m hoping the film will be an interesting insight into the mental health services of the past.

When Harry Met Sally

I’m fed up of hearing this film being cited as an 80s classic– and yet I’ve never watched it!

This film is about a short friendship between two college graduates, who then happen to meet again five years later and have to decide whether they still want to be friends- or something more. Filled with fate and cheesy 80s scenes, this sounds like the perfect cosy November watch.

Juliet, Naked

Released in 2018, this is a more recent watch and I’d really like to give it a go. Following the life of Annie, a woman who is annoyed over her boyfriend’s obsession with a famous musician.

One night, she writes a negative comment on a blog, and after this her life takes an odd turn as the musician becomes part of her life. This sounds like the perfect light-hearted watch for this time of the year. With the current situation, I need some light escapism!

Ghost

This is another 90s classic, and I’m super excited to try it! I love Dirty Dancing, and so I’m excited to see Patrick Swayze in another role. I also feel like I already know a lot about this film and its iconic pottery scene.

I think this film is currently on Netflix too, so this is a great time for me to catch up on my 90s cinema and find a new favourite!

  2. When Harry Met Sally is my favorite movie of all time. From the first time I saw it in the theater in 1989 until today I love it. The acting, the music and New York is a perfect combination. I also enjoy Notting Hill and Ghost. Hugh Grant, the music and supporting cast are fabulous.

  6. Notting Hill is the only film from this list I’ve seen, but I’ve only ever watched bits of it at a time. I don’t usually watch classic romcoms so I’m not sure I’d ever watch it in its entirety, but I can see why a lot of people love it.

  9. I haven’t seen Notting Hill, but then I’m not a fan of Hugh or Julia. When Harry Met Sally is very good, the dialogue is what really lifts it 🙂 I only watched it recently for the first time and I wasn’t disappointed.

  29. Oh wow these are certainly oldies, but goodies! I have forgotten about some of these! Ghost is perfect to watch during this time and so is When Harry Met Sally. You will definitely enjoy all of these. 🙂
