I love blogging – and working on my blog is such a fun hobby. However, I’ve recently been trying to find ways to build my blog into something more. I love finding new ways to reach more readers and write more of the posts I love.
So today I thought I’d write about a few steps you can take to improve your blog!
These are just a few tips that could come in useful if you’re looking to improve your skills a little, or even just mix up your blog content. If you find you have more time on your hands than normal, this could be a great time to build your blog into something you’re really proud of.
Reach out to other bloggers
I love connecting with other bloggers, and this is a great way to improve your blogging game. Whether this is writing a guest post for a blog you admire, or commenting on other blog posts – it’s a great way to show that you’re engaging with other people’s content.
I love connecting with bloggers on Pinterest and Twitter. Building your audience is also a great way to improve your blog and understand what your readers want from your content – helping you create a loyal following for your site.
Mix up your content
Mixing up your content is so important to keep your readers engaged and ensure that you continue to enjoy your favourite hobby.
You could change your blog theme, invest in a Premium blogging package, or add some new widgets to your site.
It can also be beneficial to write about something different. For example, I like to write about entertainment and freelance life. But every now and then I mix it up by talking about something important to me, such as period poverty. Or I try to make my posts a little more personal by talking about issues that affect me, such as my skincare struggles.
Brush up on your skills
It can be hard to get to terms with all the technical issues involved in running your own blog and social media accounts. But there are lots of ways you can brush up on your skills and understand what you’re doing as you try to improve your blog.
Reading other bloggers’ posts can help you understand the nitty-gritty of running your own site. This may include posts about Domain Authority or the best SEO practices.
Put in the time
While it would be great to instantly become an award-winning blogger, you have to be willing to put in the time if you want to improve your blog.
That could mean posting on social media everyday in between work shifts or scheduling a post every week. Any form of regular engagement will mean that your blog – and your writing – begins to naturally improve.
Putting in the time can also mean investing in your blog. For example, buying your own domain or purchasing a more professional theme can take your blog to the next level. This is especially important if you’re reaching out to potential clients, and a professional site can make all the difference.

Great tips! I absolutely love blogging because every day it teaches me something new. I’ve also really fallen in love with the process of trying to grow my traffic more and more and more. One thing that’s had a massive effect in my traffic growth has been niching down: now I focus on sustainable fashion and travel with some lifestyle content thrown in the mix, and it’s made my blog so much easier for people to approach because they now know what they will get from me. Love it!

I love that you mentioned switching up your content, I’m guilty of sticking to one niche. I created this blog to try to break out of that habit!
I find connecting with other people is easier on Twitter! Pinterest still confuses me lol.
